Salads

 

Apple are a very versatile fruit and can be used many different ways. Below are some scrumptious ways to enjoy them.

Apple Salad
  • Peel and chunk 4-5 medium apples (to prevent browning dip in pineapple juice)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1cup  milk

 

Mix ingredients in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until thick. Pour mixture over apples in large bowl. Chill. Before serving, cover with cool whip and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Apple Snicker Salad
  • 1-3.4oz package of instant butterscotch pudding

  • 1 cup milk

  • 6 oz. whipped cream topping

  • 3 Apples (peeled and chunked)

  • 6  regular Snicker candy bars chopped.

 

Mix pudding and milk, add apples and candy. Fold in the Cool Whip, chill to ready to serve. Enjoy!

Applesauce
  • 8 apples - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

  •  

Combine the apples and water in a slow cooker; cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours. Stir in the brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice; continue cooking another 30 minutes.

Apple & Sunflower
Seed Salad

  • 2 apples–cored and cubed

  • ½ cup sunflower seeds

  • 1 head romaine lettuce–chopped

  • 2 dill pickles–diced

  • 2 tomatoes–diced

  • ½ cup ranch style salad dressing

In a large bowl, mix together the apples, sunflower seeds, lettuce, pickles and tomato. Pour dressing on top, toss and enjoy!nds
